The New Middle Age
Unlocking The Potential!

Welcome to "The New Middle Age" - a powerful concept for anyone who has celebrated their sixtieth birthday and stands at the thrilling crossroads of life! I’m thrilled to dive into how this exciting phase can open up a world of opportunities for creativity, wisdom, and impactful living. Imagine leveraging your lifetime’s worth of skills and experiences to forge a path that not only fulfills you but also contributes profoundly to society. Isn’t that an exhilarating thought?

The backbone of "The New Middle Age" is the beautiful amalgamation of Positive Ageing, Positive Psychology, and Solution-Focused Therapy. This trio can be your guiding star! Positive Ageing is not just about adding years to life, but adding life to years, focusing on the benefits of aging and maximizing the positive aspects of aging.

Consider Positive Psychology - a beacon of light that emphasizes your strengths and virtues. It encourages you to thrive and find happiness in life’s second act. It's about cultivating what makes life most worth living and harnessing personal and social resources to enhance individual and collective well-being.

Solution-Focused Therapy then, acts as the catalyst in this mix. It’s a future-oriented, goal-directed approach focusing on solutions, rather than on the problems that brought clients to seek therapy.

Oure framework can be adapted to help you not only create goals but also achieve them in the most effective manner.

  • Imagine an inspirational, dynamic, upward spiral symbolising the evolutionary journey of life. Around the spiral, there are three interlinked components.
  1. The first one represents positive ageing, visualised as an hourglass changing into a mature, strong tree.
  2. The second one symbolises positive psychology, perhaps depicted as a human brain radiating colourful, joyful thoughts.
  3. The third signifies positive solutions, portrayed as a complex maze with a clear path leading straight to the centre. Let all elements integrate harmoniously, reinforcing the concept of a continuously evolving, potent life cycle.

The New Middle Age:
Created My Eureka Moment!

My studies of Positive Psychology soon made me aware, with glittering clarity, that the composition of these studies mirrored my wife's and my life. We were living our lives optimally!

This gave me my "eureka moment." I then set myself challenges to match my passions with those of others who amplified their achievements and became a pioneer of the joy of learning new things.

The evidence of the "challenge" is supported (below) under 'Authentic Happiness.' Adding to the pool of knowledge contributed by my many mentors. Compelling research and evidence that it works for whoever wants to take up the challenge!

On my website page : Go to Navigation Button (Positive Psychology)  and scroll to Authentic Happiness for evidence of these challenges.

Authentic Happiness is one of the reasons I became a positive ageing innovator and took up several challenges!
