Benefits of Positive Psychology

Are even more so in the New Normal period of our lives!

Everything we thought we knew needs a compelling rethink!

Fortunately, we have an active trio waiting to help :

  1. Never forget those in the middle-late adulthood category, who are in the best position to be widely influential, their practical wisdom, respect, status, resilience, skills, socially relatable and a vault of resources seasoned over many years!
  2. You've got me as your inspirational guide!
  3.  The Benefits of Positive Psychology are structured firmly, scientific research, and compelling evidence that spirals evolutionary to take on any pandemic, war and tsunami! Paul Wong demonstrates how positive psychology responds to the wake-up call of Covid-19 later on in my page!

Add these together, and you have a potent cocktail of the human spirit with the momentum to scale most adversities!

On this page, we'll be focusing on Positive Goal Setting, but before we do this, it's wise to click on my website: https://www.inspire2serve.com

Positive Emotions, and

you'll see the powerful trifecta:

  1. Mindfulness
  2. Growth v's Fixed Mindset
  3. Broaden & Build

Doing this gives you a turbo-charged mind to set any goals you choose!

If, as an example, we choose to set a positive goal of building relationships, first with ourselves and then with others.

Arm ourselves with positive emotions and a high degree of Hope to meet the challenges that always come along.

Making that connection wards off giant killer loneliness!

Above all, frame your goals with kindness, forgiveness and love.

The golden gem of little exceptions!

Imagine the impact you have on others!

Goal setting deserves another page, and I bring this to you later.

Now for Paul Wong's words of wisdom: (I have abbreviated)

Seven Reasons Why the New Normal May Be Good for You!

  1. Accept life isn't fair, and get over it.
  2. Learn to endure and persevere.
  3. Value solitude and practice self-reflection.
  4. Be content with what you have; don't compare with or envy others.
  5. Refuse to let others affect your emotions.
  6. Appreciate your individuality.
  7. Cultivate an emotional balance of views and opinions. (mature adults are good at that!)

Paul wraps around an expanded version of the famous Viktor Frankl'sTragic Optimism.'

I have used Frankl's quotes as they resonate with me:

T.O. Frankl defines tragic optimism as the decision to say "yes" to life despite the pain, guilt, and death that one must face. The positive energies of Hope, faith, and love counteract these three hostile forces.

And his other quote is so relevant today!

When we can no longer change a situation, challenge ourselves to change. ( We can do that! my quote)

Benefits of Positive Psychology are rich in every aspect of our lives not necessarily under the same labelling but still having the same impact to create happiness and well-being.

Starry-Night

Viktor Frankl quoted in his book: Man's Search For Meaning, in holocaust work camp he visualised on a starry night (similar to this) an answer to Tragic Optimism.
